What's New in Cloudera Manager 4.1.2

Cloudera Manager 4.1.2 includes the following new features:

  • The default alternatives priority for MapReduce version 1 (MR1) has been set to be higher than that for the YARN service (MR2). This means the MR1 client configuration will take priority by default. See Incompatible Changes in Cloudera Manager 4.1 for more details, including information on how to reset the priorities if necessary.

  • Cloudera Manager 4.1.2 supports the third beta drop of Cloudera Impala. Cloudera Impala 0.3 requires Cloudera Manager 4.1.2, and Cloudera Manager 4.1.2 supports only Impala 0.3, not the earlier beta releases. If you upgrade either Cloudera Manager or Cloudera Impala, you must upgrade the other.

  • Cloudera Manager now supports specifying an external program of your own choosing for user authentication. Typically this allows the use of a custom script to interface to a customer authentication service. See Configuring External Authentication for details.

  • A number of bugs have been fixed: see Known Issues Fixed In Release 4.1.2 for details.
