What's New in Cloudera Manager 4.7.0

  • A number of bugs have been fixed: see Known Issues Fixed in Cloudera Manager 4.7.0 for details of the most noteworthy.
  • Support for Sentry (Hive Authentication) with CDH 4.3.0 or later. Sentry enables role-based, fine-grained authorization for HiveServer2. It provides classic database-style authorization for Hive and Cloudera Impala. See Setting Up Hive Authorization with Sentry.
  • A new Home page has been added to the Cloudera Manager Admin Console user interface, and is the page that appears when you log into the Cloudera Manager Admin Console. The Home page is the central point from which you can view the status of your cluster.
  • Support for HBase Indexer for Cloudera Search. A new Keystore Indexer service has been added that indexes the stream of records being added to HBase tables. This process is scalable, fault tolerant, transactional, and operates at Near Real Time (NRT). See The Lily HBase Indexer Service.
  • A new Parcel Usage display shows which parcels are running on the hosts in your clusters. It also indicates if you have components from different parcels (versions) running on the same host.
  • If alerting is enabled in Cloudera Manager, alerts can now be sent both when an entity enters an unhealthy state and when it exits that unhealthy state. Further, it is now possible to configure alerts when an entity enters or exits a Concerning (Yellow) state.
  • Some minor changes have been made to the controls on the Events and Audits pages.
  • New documentation has been added:
